How do I build an app with the AI assistant?
Give the AI assistant all the requirements up front, the way you would brief a software developer you hired. A vague request such as "build me a directory" can mean many things.
- Ask ChatGPT, Claude or another chat AI to write a product requirements document (PRD) for your app. Go back and forth until the requirements are not ambiguous. A free ChatGPT plan works for this.
- Read the document and change anything you want.
- Start a new chat in the AI assistant, say "build this app" and paste the whole requirements document in.
This way the app is built in one go instead of through many back and forths, which also costs fewer credits. Do not build it button by button.
For a simpler website or landing page, asking the AI to ask you five clarifying questions first is usually enough.
